In this video tutorial, the presenter demonstrates how to perform basic color correction for free using AI tools. The tutorial starts with the presenter showing a before and after shot of color-corrected footage, emphasizing how strong the color correction is using AI. The first step is to type in RunwayML.com in the browser, which will take you to a website with several options on the left side of the screen. Clicking on “iMagic Tools” is the focus of this tutorial, and on the right side of the screen, there are various options to choose from.
The tool we are working with in this tutorial is “text to color” which allows the user to drag and drop their footage into the website. The presenter then drags and drops the footage of a tiger into the website, which is initially poorly coloured. The presenter then types “orange and teal” into the text box, which is the old action movie type look and generates the result. The tool performs an excellent job of color correction, and the presenter emphasizes that this is the AI part of the tool.
The presenter demonstrates that the tool can also be used to make the footage look like a specific painting, such as Vincent Van Gogh’s “Starry Night.” The presenter then shows that the tool has advanced settings that allow for grayscale and adjusting the intensity. Lastly, the presenter shows how the tool can toggle between the original footage and the corrected footage and can reset the correction if needed. The tutorial concludes by demonstrating how to export the corrected footage in standard definition 720 or 1080p and how to download the footage for free.
