How To Add Text Behind Moving Objects – Premiere Pro 2021

In this video, I show you step by step how to add in text in Premiere Pro 2021 behind objects.

Step 1 is to drag and drop footage onto your timeline. Now, click on the text / type tool and write out the word or words you want.

Now, make a duplicate of the original video by holding down alt (PC) or option (mac) and press up to add the duplicate to the v3 or track 3.

Now, go to effect controls, and reduce the opacity to 80%.

Now, click on the pen tool, and begin to draw a mask. Mask the area you want to have your text behind. Make sure you click on the stopwatch or toggle animation switch to animate the mask over time.

Once you have a mask, double check to make sure the mask is good by going through it frame by frame.

Finally, go back to your duplicate video and set the opacity back to 100%. This will give you the add text behind objects look.
