Create Directional Lighting with Photoshop. This is a great trick for photographers, especially as you can adjust the color of the lighting, the intensity, and the shape of it.
Open an image in photoshop. Now, duplicate the image / layer – drag and drop it on + icon at the bottom right of screen or Command (mac) or Control (PC) and J key.
Now we convert it into a smart object. Right click on top layer – outside the text and the image.
Next, we want to apply a filter. Go to filter — Render — Lighting effects. Makes sure the light is set to spot light.
Select the color of the light. White is a bright day time / LED light type look where as a yellow look is more of a mid day sun look / regular light (non led).
We can now adjust the location of the scale length as well as the size and shape of the cone and the hotspot.
