Creating a repeating pattern or grid in illustrator is easy. First step, create a new artboard. Next, add the shapes you wish to use in your pattern. Now select the shapes group them with object — group. Now go back to object – repeat – grid. This will create a default grid. Note: this grid can be adjusted in size, density, height, width, proximity, and more.
