To create a white flash transition, or an opacity flash, drag and drop your clips into the timeline. Next, create a color matte – go to project panel — new item — color matte. Make sure the matte is white. Next, drop the color matte onto the timeline into video track 2 (v2) and adjust the length. In this tutorial, we go with an 18 frame transition.
Now go to the beginning of the matte on the timeline, and click the stopwatch beside opacity to animate opacity over time. Set the opacity to 0%. Move forward a few frames, and set the opacity to 100%. Move forward another few frames, and click on “create keyframe” to make a third keyframe. Now go to the end of the matte and set the opacity to 0%.
