In this video I show you how to create an old tv, or static like television effect using adobe After Effects 2023. Step one is to create a composition and place your footage into the timeline. Next, create an adjustment layer and make sure it is the length of the video or long enough for the desired effect. Now grab the pen tool and create a mask around the screen. Select the noise HLS auto effect and drop it on the layer mask. Set the noise type to Grain. Adjust the hue to approx. 14%, lightness to 49%, and the saturation to 67%. Finally, increase the grain size to 10 (for larger grains) and adjust the noise animation speed to desired speed.
