In this tutorial I show you how to create your own unique pattern in Adobe Illustrator. The first step is to create a small sample of what you want your pattern to look like. In this example we use a few different shapes of various sizes.
Next, select all the shapes and go to object — repeat — grid.
Now you will see button handles you can use to extend your pattern out. Note, if you don’t see the wide handles, you may have to zoom in closer to see them.
From here you can adjust the spaces between your objects as well.
