Glass Morphism
Photoshop – Up your game – Recent UI trend called “Glass Morphism”.
In a nutshell – it is a frosted glass effect using a background blur. It gives you a multilayered look with an object overlapping another.
Step 1 – place your background image. In my instance, had to stretch it a little to fit.
Step 2 – Duplicate that layer. Control / Command J – Name the layer blur
Step 3 – Go to filter — blur — Gaussian blur – Select a value around 40
Step 4 – Create a rectangle – I’m going to go with 600 x 300 – you can do whatever you feel works best
Step 5 – Going to do some quick customization – Click on properties —Round the corners
Note: Fill color doesn’t matter.
Step 6 – Drag the shape layer Below the blur layer***
Step 7 – Right click on your blur layer and select “Create clipping mask”.
Step 8 – Let’s work on the shape – add some effects. Double click on the shape layer – should open up “blending options”.
Step 9 – Click on “inner glow” – season these numbers to taste. Select normal for blending mode – Opacity 15% – Choke 16% – Size 21 px
Step 10 – Click on stroke. Change color to white. Position to outside. Change opacity to 50%
Step 11 – Click on cover overlay – change color to white. Opacity to 10%
Step 12 – Click on drop shadow. I have an opacity of 16% – an angle of 112 degrees, a spread of 22, and a size of 13px.
Link to background – Have to stretch it.
