How to Get Blurred Background and Depth of Field – Premiere Pro

To get a blurred background in premiere pro, first drop some footage onto your timeline. Next, go to your effects panel and drop gaussian blur onto your video. Now draw a mask around the object you want to keep in the foreground (not blur) with the pen / bezier tool. Next, increase the blurriness to your desired blur level. Finally, click on the checkmark beside the invert box. This will create depth of field and a blurry background.
