Creating a text shatter, or glass shatter effect in Adobe After Effects is relatively easy to do. Step one, create a composition. Next, Click on the type tool and add text to your composition. Now right click on the text and pre-compose the text. From there, go to your effects panel and select simulation — shatter. Change the view to rendered. Now to go Shape — pattern and switch it from bricks to glass. Adjust extrusion depth, repetitions and the strength of force 1 to achieve the desired effect.
