Adding transitions in premiere pro is very easy. First, go to your effects panel and select video transitions. Under video transitions, select cross dissolve. Place the transition in the middle between the first clip / segment and the second clip / segment. Note: you can place the transition 100% on the first clip, 50% on the first clip and 50% on the second clip, or 100% on the second clip, depending on the effect you are going for.
